One of the city's most cherished venues for performance art, the Pikes Peak Center hosts a diverse range of shows and events including musicals, concerts, dance, and even live TV game shows.

The Center was built by El Paso County citizenry in 1982 to spark economic revitalization for the downtown business district. The Center hosts about 200 shows annually and receives international acclaim from artists, critics, and performers for its design and acoustics.

Getting to the Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts from Native Roots Uintah is easy. Take N 17th Street to Colorado Avenue and turn left. Then, turn right onto Sahwatch Street and follow the signs for parking at the Center.

Just a couple blocks away from the Center for the Performing Arts is the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum. If you noticed a large domed clock tower overlooking Colorado Springs downtown, that’s the museum!

Residing in the former El Paso County Courthouse, the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum is an excellent place to soak up the history of the area and learn more about the people and ideas that built Colorado Springs.

The Museum holds informative and immersive exhibits highlighting life for early pioneers in Colorado Springs from the 19th and 20th centuries. Best Dispensary Near Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center can be defined as a fine art gallery, art museum, performance theater, and art school, but it is truly much more. Some might even call it an entire arts district under one roof.

The Fine Arts Center is a part of Colorado College and was established in 1919 as an extension of the Broadmoor Art Academy, which at the time was one of the only multi-discipline arts institutions in the USA.

Today, the space offers an ongoing place for academic engagement, study, research, and community collaboration locally, nationally, and internationally. Located only five minutes from Native Roots Uintah, the Fine Art Center is easy to get to.

Best Hidden Gems in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs isn’t a small city, but it gives off small-town vibes. There are tons of things to do in the city, but some of us prefer the secret spots and hidden gems to the more touristy options.

If you like to get off the beaten path, then you have to check out these hidden gems in Colorado Springs to inspire your next adventure.

      Stratton Open Space

Near North Cheyenne Canon, this Colorado Springs recreational space offers 318 acres of wildlife habitat, trails, and open space. Visitors can take in the beauty of five distinct types of ecosystems within the Stratton Open Space.

The park’s hours are from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm, and the open space is gated and locked each evening when the park closes. In the summer the park is open until 10:00 pm.

The majority of Stratton Open Space trails are easy to moderate in difficulty and are looped, allowing visitors to traverse the open space without getting lost in the wilderness.

      City Rock

City Rock is an urban indoor recreational facility offering rock climbing classes and competitions. Visitors will also find plenty of fitness, cardio, and yoga classes to stay in shape. Did we also mention that City Rock has an amazing restaurant called The Ute?

If you’re into rock climbing or want to get into it without spending a fortune on gear and permits, then you have to go to City Rock.

The great thing is that City Rock is located just five minutes from Native Roots Uintah! Take Uintah Street east and turn right onto N Nevada Avenue. The facility is on the left-hand side just past E Kiowa Street.

      The Money Museum

The study and collection of coins, paper currency, and medals is known as numismatics and Colorado Springs has an entire museum dedicated to it.

Officially known as The Edward C. Rochette Money Museum, the space features three main galleries for visitors to explore and learn about US history through the lens of money.

The museum is an excellent resource for anyone interested in numismatics, and they also hold events, webinars, and courses related to American Numismatics.
